The Hearts Behind Springville Goldens
We are Jason and MaKenna Weekes, and we are the owners of Springville Goldens. We are the proud parents of Lily, Luna, and Reggie, as well as our two human children, Chloe and Charlie. We have the mission of breeding, selling, and training healthy dogs that help their owners and become model citizens in the community. We believe that all dogs are good, that they all deserve a loving home, and that they can all be treated and treat others with respect.
Get to Know Us
Deeply rooted in our love for Golden Retrievers, our family dedicates every day to raising healthy, happy puppies at Springville Goldens. We believe a puppy isn't just a pet, but a lifelong family member deserving of the most nurturing start in life.
Jason Weekes
Lead Trainer
Jason is the trainer in our program. He is a therapist by trade and a dog lover by choice. He uses his understanding of behavioralism to not only train the dogs he works with, but also their handlers. He believes that it is just as important for a person to be trained with their dog as it is for a dog to be properly trained. He uses a combination of positive reinforcement techniques with relationship building to create stronger bonds between trainer and dog.
Jason will also be your point of contact with anything paperwork related. He has an understanding of what is necessary to register a dog as a service or therapy animal as well as what will be required to register a dog or a litter with the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Jason is a lover of the outdoors and any form of movement. You can often find him on a bike, going to the mountains, or watching a movie that he will then quote to you line for line. He has been a dog fanatic since he was a young boy and spent most of his teen years researching dogs to find the perfect companion for him. When he finally got a dog his greatest joy was being able to train him and teach him tricks. He now brings that love of training dogs with him as he helps others creat long lasting and healthy relationships with their companion animals.
MaKenna Weekes
Puppy Socialization
MaKenna has trained as a medical assistant and has been working in the medical field for the last seven years. She loves helping people find out what is wrong with them to live fuller, happier lives. She brings her understanding of health care and a deep love for dogs to make sure that the dogs are as healthy as her patients. Her biggest success story comes from when she was helping birth Lily and knew instantly that she would be our dog. Her excellent judgment of character, open heart, humility, and eye for detail help keep things running smoothly or allows for someone with more experience to support when needed.
MaKenna loves being a mom and raising her two little girls. You can find her jamming to music, dancing, or playing on the playground with them almost always. She understands the importance of creating lifelong bonds and how healing they can be. She can help you choose the dog that will bring you so much joy that you, too, will be dancing through life with a smile on your face
